Occupational Therapist (School-Based) Location: Akron/Canton, OH
Job Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (Onsite)
Schedule: Monday-Friday (Approximately 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
Practice Setting: School-Based (Preschool & School-Aged Students)
Job Overview: We are seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist to join an established school-based therapy team serving preschool and school-aged students throughout the Akron/Canton, OH area. The Occupational Therapist will evaluate students, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide therapeutic interventions that support participation and success within the educational environment. Key Responsibilities: - Evaluate students to determine occupational therapy needs and eligibility for services.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and measurable therapy goals.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to preschool and school-aged students.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute to goal development.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and multidisciplinary team members.
- Recommend adaptive equipment, classroom accommodations, and therapeutic strategies.
- Monitor student progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with school, state, and federal regulations.
- Educate families and school staff on strategies to promote student independence and functional success.
- Travel between multiple school sites within the Akron/Canton area as needed.
Qualifications: - Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
- Active Ohio Occupational Therapist license or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start date.
- Previous pediatric or school-based experience preferred but not required.
- New graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Current CPR certification preferred.
- NBCOT certification preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary educational team.
